First day of school

Elementary schools:

  • Aug. 21, is the first day for all students in grades 1-5.
  • All kindergarten students will attend school during the first week; however, there will be a staggered schedule for students.
    • Some students will attend Aug. 21-22; others will attend Aug. 23-24. (Schools will assign students to specific days.) This will allow students to become more familiar with their new surroundings in a smaller classroom setting.
    • All kindergarten students will report to school daily starting Aug. 25.

Middle and high schools:

  • Aug. 21 is the first day for sixth- and ninth-grade students only.
    • This will allow for a successful transition of students moving from one school level to another, and will allow staff members to begin to build relationships and share expectations.
  • All other middle and high school students will start school Aug. 22.
